Danbury, CT and the towns around it

Websites for HVAC contractors who get called when it breaks

Nobody shops for a heating company in good weather. The call comes on the first freezing night of November, or the first ninety-degree afternoon in July, from somebody who is uncomfortable right now and is looking at three names on a phone screen.

That changes what the site has to do. It is not a brochure somebody browses on a laptop. It is a phone number that has to be reachable in two seconds, on a cracked screen, on one bar of signal, in a house that is already too cold.

§01 · Three people are searching, and they are not the same person

The emergency

No heat, at night, in winter. They search, they tap the first number that works, and they stop. The site is not being read, it is being used. If the number is not tappable without scrolling, the next company gets the job.

The replacement

A system at the end of its life and a four-figure decision in front of them. This one reads for twenty minutes, compares two or three companies, and looks for what the job costs, what financing exists and which rebates they can claim.

The name check

Somebody gave them your name. They are not looking for a heating company, they are looking for you, to see whether you look real before they let you into the house. This is the search most companies never think about and the easiest one to lose.

§02 · What goes on it

Six things, and the reason for each one

01

Your license number, where a customer can see it

The homeowner checking you out is deciding whether to let a stranger into the basement. The number costs nothing to publish and it answers the question before they ask it.

02

The brands you install and service

Somebody with a ten-year-old unit searches the brand on the label before they search anything else. If the name on their furnace is not on your site, the search never reaches you.

03

Financing, said out loud

A replacement is the kind of number people put off. The companies that name a monthly figure get called by the ones who would otherwise wait another winter.

04

The rebate programs you handle

Most homeowners do not know what they qualify for, and the paperwork is the part they dread. Saying you handle it turns a chore into a reason to pick you.

05

The towns you actually drive to

Not a county, not a radius on a map. A person wants to see the name of their own town before they call, and a list of real towns is also what a search engine can match.

06

Photos of your own installs

Stock photos of a smiling technician read as stock to everybody. A real photo of a real mechanical room is worth more than a paragraph about quality.

§03 · What HVAC contractors ask

All my work comes from referrals. Why would I need a site?+

Referrals still search you before they call. Someone hands over your name, and the first thing they do is look it up to see whether you look like a real company. The site is not there to find new people. It is there so the people already sent to you finish the call.

I have a Google Business Profile. Isn't that enough?+

It is the most important single thing you have, and it is worth keeping sharp. It is also the same template as every competitor, with the same layout and the same fields. A site is where the brands, the financing and the licence live, and it is the thing your profile links to.

My season changes. Can the site change with it?+

Yes, and that is what the monthly plan is for. Swapping the front of the site from heating to cooling, or putting a maintenance offer up before the season turns, is a request like any other, delivered the same week. There is no login to remember and nothing for you to rebuild.

Do I need separate sites for residential and commercial?+

Almost never. Two sites means two of everything to keep current, and the commercial buyer who finds the residential page does not bounce, they read it. One site with a page for each side of the business is easier to keep honest and easier to be found in.

What happens to the site if I stop paying monthly?+

Nothing. The build is paid once and the code is yours from the day it goes live. The monthly is for changes and upkeep after that, and it is month to month. Stopping means the site stays exactly as it is.

$1,995 once. Live in seven days. Yours from the day it goes live.
